Returns, Refunds, and Warranty Terms

At Agason Motors, we prioritize customer satisfaction while ensuring that our operations remain efficient, fair, and uncompromised. This policy governs the terms under which we handle returns, refunds, and warranty claims. All customers are required to carefully read and agree to this policy before making any purchase.

Our policies strictly comply with the Consumer Protection Act of Malawi to protect the interests of both our business and customers.

1. Returns Policy

Agason Motors only accepts returns under strict conditions to protect the integrity of our operations.

1.1 Eligibility for Returns

Goods may only be returned if the following conditions are met:

- The product is defective, damaged, or incorrect upon delivery due to our error.
- The customer reports the issue within 48 hours of receiving the product.
- The product is returned in its original packaging, unused, with all accessories and documentation intact.

Returns WILL NOT be accepted under the following circumstances:

- The item shows signs of misuse, negligence, or tampering.
- Electrical components or equipment have been installed, used, or modified in any way.
- The product was purchased on a special order or is a customized item.
- The return request is made outside the 7-day return window.

1.2 Return Process

- Step 1: The customer must submit a written request for the return, including proof of purchase (receipt/invoice) and detailed reasons for the return.
- Step 2: Agason Motors will evaluate the request within 5 working days and provide approval or rejection based on our policies.
- Step 3: Approved returns must be sent to Agason Motors' facility at the customer's expense unless the return is due to our error (e.g., defective or wrong product).

1.3 Restocking Fee

For non-defective returns approved as exceptions, a restocking fee of 20% of the product value will be charged.

2. Refunds Policy

Refunds are issued only under specific circumstances, and strict evaluations will be conducted before any refund is approved.

2.1 Eligibility for Refunds

Refunds are issued if:

- A returned item has been confirmed as defective or damaged and cannot be repaired or replaced.
- The product delivered does not match the specifications provided at the time of purchase.

Refunds WILL NOT be issued for:

- Products damaged due to misuse, negligence, or improper handling by the customer.
- Products that have been used, installed, or altered in any way.
- Requests made for non-defective products outside the 7-day return period.

2.2 Refund Process

- Refunds will be processed within 14 business days of approval.
- Refunds will be issued in the original payment method or as store credit at Agason Motors' discretion.
- Partial refunds may apply if the returned item shows signs of wear or if packaging/accessories are missing.

3. Warranty Policy

3.1 Warranty Coverage

Agason Motors provides a 6-month warranty for select products (e.g., maize mills, electric motors, generators). The warranty applies only to manufacturing defects and covers repair or replacement of defective components.

Warranty does NOT cover:

- Normal wear and tear.
- Damage caused by improper installation, misuse, negligence, or accidents.
- Repairs performed by unauthorized personnel.
- Electrical components that have been improperly wired or subjected to voltage irregularities.

3.2 Warranty Claim Process

- Customers must submit a written warranty claim including proof of purchase and details of the issue.
- Agason Motors will inspect the item and determine if the defect qualifies for warranty service.
- Repairs or replacements will be provided within 7-14 working days for approved claims.

4. Customer Obligations

Customers are expected to:

- Ensure they read and understand all product specifications before purchase.
- Use products in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines.
- Retain proof of purchase for all transactions.
- Report any issues immediately to Agason Motors upon delivery or use of the product.

Failure to adhere to these obligations may result in denial of return, refund, or warranty claims.

5. Agason Motors' Rights

Agason Motors reserves the right to:

- Reject returns, refunds, or warranty claims that do not meet the conditions outlined in this policy.
- Charge inspection fees, restocking fees, or transportation fees where applicable.
- Refuse service to customers found to be engaging in fraudulent activities.

6. Optional Insurance

Agason Motors offers optional insurance in partnership with General Alliance Ltd. Customers can opt to insure their goods during transit for added protection. Details of coverage and costs will be provided at the time of purchase.

7. Dispute Resolution

- Any disputes regarding returns, refunds, or warranties must be escalated in writing to the Customer Service Manager.
- If unresolved, disputes can be referred to the Competition and Fair Trading Commission of Malawi as per the Consumer Protection Act.
